CIRES: Research Center of Resilience and Spirituality:  academic and professional network

"If the Winter say:

"Spring is in my heart"

Who would believe him? "

K. Gibran

"My brothers, Consider it when you face various adversities,
because you know that the testing of your faith develops resilience.
And resilience is successfully carrying out the work
to be mature and complete, not lacking anything. "

Epistle of James 1:2-4 (paraphrased)

C I R E S
started its activities as an international research network on the study of the relationship between resilience and spirituality. Here converge therefore fields such as psychology, theology, sociology, anthropology and the Arts, among others.

On this site you can find some input on research and theoretical developments on the topic of Resilience in a special way, as it relates to faith, religious experience and church participation.

We hope to provide a service to the academic community and professional working in the theme of resilience, especially in Latin America, and the various entities and agencies that strive to promote human development, particularly the most vulnerable and disadvantaged of our societies.
